Bringing the Gospel, Education, and Trade Skill Training to the Congo

The hope of a better day pulsates through the people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, schools, and trade skill centers International Berean Ministries (IBM) educates, trains, and spiritually and physically feeds the children and youth of the DRC.

Our Schools

In the DRC, education for children is limited to the most populated cities.

Until the early 2000s, when IBM opened K-12 schools in the eastern DRC, parents in remote areas hoped that one day their children would get an education. Their hope is being realized today. Graduating students have jobs and also learned about the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. After receiving post-high school education, some have returned to their schools as teachers.

The Center for Flourishing

Providing Leadership, Pastoral, Entrepreneurial
& Trade Skill Training

In 2008 IBM founded The Center for Flourishing in the remote village of Kitindi. It encompasses a three-fold approach to adult education—Leadership and Pastoral training, Micro Business Development, and Trade Skill Training. Today the Center continues to teach and increase its offerings.

Church Planting in Remote Villages

IBM’s Kitindi School serves not only the village of Kitindi but over 70 other neighboring villages. Since its founding, parents, witnessing their children’s education and hearing them speak of Jesus, began asking questions about the Bible. As a result, over 30 churches have been planted throughout the area.
